ANOTHER INTERPRETATION FOR THE WEISSLER’S CRITICAL EXPONENT IN THE THEORY OF SEMILINEAR PARABOLIC PDE
Abstract
The semilinear partial differential equation which may have either atime-global solution or a blow-up one according to the choice of the initial datum istreated. In particular, a time-local curve of maximal slope for the Lyapunov functionalis constructed through the energy minimizing scheme established in 1980 by Marino,Saccon and Tosques. The main objective of this paper is to give another naturalinterpretation for the Weissler’s critical exponent known in the investigation of theexistence of the time-local solutions.
