Abstract.In this paper, we first suggest some rules which are considered when we give a similarity measure for measuring the degree of similarity between elements and between fuzzy rough sets. Basing on the background of fuzzy information handling, we defined the similarity measures between elements and between fuzzy rough sets, and discussed their involved properties. Finally, a possible application of the similarity measure is mentioned. The proposed measures can provide a useful way to measure the similarity between fuzzy rough sets.
