A DESCENT LIKE-METHOD

Abstract.We consider a system of nonlinear equations. We study the numerical resolution using
a descent-like method. Based on an analysis of the way for choosing the step size,
we present an algorithm which exploits better the results of the calculus, contributing to a decrease in the
number of accomplished iterations necessary to approximate the exact solution of the above system
within a given accuracy. Numerical examples solved using this algorithm are also presented.
