Abstract.A maintenance policy for determining the
optimal number
of overhauls and the optimal period
between overhauls which incorporate minimal repair,
overhauls, replacement.
The cost of minimal repair depends on age and the system
is replaced at time
.
It is shown that there exists a unique optimal policy which
minimizes
the expected cost rate under certain conditions.
Various cases are considered.
