Abstract. The aim of the paper is to study the comparative growth properties of composite entire functions using $L^{\ast }$-order and $L^{\ast }$-type where $L=L(r)$ is a slowly changing function. Further we introduce the notion of generalised relative $L^{\ast }$-order of entire functions and discuss some of their properties.
