Abstract.Multiple finite difference methods (MFDMs) are obtained from a continuous -step linear multistep method (LMM) and applied to solve third order boundary value problems (BVPs). Convergence of the MFDMs is established through consistency and zero-stability by expressing them as a block method. The intervals of absolute stability for the methods are calculated using the boundary locus technique. Numerical experiments are performed to show the efficiency of the methods.
