Abstract.In the paper we study the comparative growth properties of composite entire and meromorphic functions using $L$- $\left( p,q\right) $-th order and $%
L^{\ast }$- $\left( p,q\right) $-th order improving some earlier results where $L=L\left( r\right) $ is a slowly changing function and $p,q$ are positive integers with $p>q$.
