A NEW PROOF FOR A THEOREM OF

Abstract. In 1937 M.H. Stone proved that a space is compact if and only if each of its closed subspaces is H-closed, using Boolean Algebra. In 1940, M. Katĕtov gave a topological proof of the same result. In this note we give a new and simpler proof of this result.
