ANALYSIS OF SOME DIFFERENCE SCHEMES
USED IN NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF
PRODUCTION/INJECTION WELLS

Abstract. Asymptotic approximation/truncation error of a numerical scheme commonly used in petroleum engineering is analyzed. It is shown that the scheme has a (small) non-removable asymptotic error. A modification that eliminates the error from the scheme is found.
