Abstract. The Hirota's bilinear method is used to construct multiple-soliton
solutions for a new form of the (3 + 1)-dimensional BKP equation.
The resulting solutions involve generic phase shifts and wave
frequencies containing some existing choices. By taking the long
wave limit approach and extending the real parameters into complex
parameters, a few classes of limit solutions and complexitons are
generated respectively. Finally, a Wronskian formulation is
presented.
