NEW MIXED FINITE VOLUME SPACES
FOR ELLIPTIC PROBLEMS

Abstract. We introduce a new family of mixed finite volume spaces of higher order for second order elliptic problems on rectangular grids. We also show that these volume methods are equivalent to the nonconforming finite element methods used to define them.
