Abstract

The problem of finding the coefficients and parameters for thermodynamical problems when the solution is known is investigated. Our model problem consists of a sample, inside a cylinder, that is completely insulated except at front where the heat source is located and at the rear end $x=L$ where it is open to a cooler support rod with limited insulation. The direct and inverse problems are described and numerical results are given for the parameters of the model problem.
