Preface

The VIT University was founded in 1984 as a self-financing institution called the Vellore Engineering College. The Union Ministry of Human Resources Development conferred University status on Vellore Engineering College in 2001. The University was established with the aim of providing higher education on par with international standards. VIT is the first educational institution to be honoured with the TVN-KIDAO-NIQR award instituted by the National Institute of Quality and Reliability (NIQR), for maintaining exceptional quality. The university has also been awarded ABET Accreditation for Mechanical, Computer Science, Bio Technology and Electronics & Communication Engineering. Committed to excellence in fundamental research as well as the development of innovative technologies for the future, VIT offers a quality research training experience for its students. The Institute maintains its relevance to world-class research by linking with industry and business through local and international research networks.

The Mathematics Division of the School of Advanced Sciences, VIT University, Chennai organized the “International Conference on Mathematical Computer Engineering – ICMCE 2013” during 29-30, November 2013. More than 350 delegates from all over the world attended the conference. The delegates included mathematicians, engineers, business managers and consultants. The objectives of the conference were to highlight the role of mathematics in the field of engineering & computer science and to encourage young mathematicians to have collaborative research with engineers & business managers, and to bring all active researchers under one umbrella of mathematics. Around 250 research papers were received. The conference accepted only high-quality original research papers after review process.
